Hailing from Harrisburg, PA (and not sunny California as their music may suggest), the caffeinated Christian pop-punkers of Last Tuesday first rallied together in 1999 around catchy hooks, hopeful lyrics, and their faith in God. Though lineup changes plagued Last Tuesday (sometimes bouncing between trio and quartet status) over the years, they still managed to build a strong following through constant touring and an energetic live show. They released two full-lengths -- 2001's Dear Jessica and 2004's Distractions and Convictions -- and split an album with Curbsquirrels (2002's Composition) via Dug Records before inking a deal with Mono vs. Stereo. Last Tuesday's positive words, duel vocal attack, and melodic leanings combined with an even more aggressive sound for their third studio album and label debut, Resolve. Produced by Relient K's Matthew Thiessen and Joe Marlett (blink-182, Foo Fighters), the album was released in May 2005 to the praise of critics and fans alike. Become What You Believe followed in August of the next year. At the end of 2006, however, the only remaining original member, vocalist/guitarist Steve Gee, announced he would be leaving Last Tuesday to concentrate on married life. The remaining members -- bassist Carl Brengle, drummer Chris Murk, and bassist Ben Hannigan -- carried on for one last tour in early 2007 (without Gee) before throwing in the towel for good. ~ Corey Apar
