Brian McComas was born in Bethesda, Maryland, but essentially grew up in the heart of the Ozarks in Harrison, Arkansas.nnAt 16 his musical adventure took flight after a brief meeting with one of the singer's role models, singer/songwriter Paul Overstreet. When Overstreet gave McComas the address of his publishing company, McComas submitted material and got a callback and a request to hone his skills and to continue submitting songs.nnAfter a stint at college (he attended both University of Arkansas and Southwest Missouri State University), McComas moved to Nashville, where he garnered a publishing deal at Polygram Music.nnAfter a brief stay at Mercury Records, he found a home at Lyric Street Records, who released his debut album, Brain McComas, in 2003.nnThe lead single from the album, "99.9 Percent Sure (I've Never Been Here Before)", made the Billboard Top Ten. ~ Rick Cohoon & Steve Leggett
