She’s the queen of the telenovela theme, and for Angeline ‘Angge’ Quinto (born 1989) the road to pop stardom was right out of a soap opera arc. After discovering she was adopted and had been sold off by her biological mother, she found solace through music early on. In a household that could barely fund her education, Quinto would sneak out to compete in local singing contests, honing her vocal skills and winning consistently with aplomb—she once bagged top honours at three different contests in one night. Moving on to nationwide talent searches, it was 2011’s Star Power: Sharon's Search for the Next Female Pop Superstar where she got her big break and proved herself a birit powerhouse.
