Buffalo Sunn are a Dublin-based rock group whose lush harmonies and layered guitar pop meld classic '60s influences with a modern indie aesthetic. Formed in 2013 from members of the band Sweet Jane, they were led by singer/songwriter Daniel Paxton along with his brother Conor Paxton on bass and pedal steel, guitarist Patrick McHugh, keyboardist Jimmy Cullen, and drummer Donagh O’Brien. Keyboardist Cullen was subsequently replaced by Neil Paxton. Working with producer Pat McCarthy (R.E.M., the Waterboys, U2), Buffalo Sunn recorded their debut album, By the Ocean by the Sea, in 2014 for Irish label Reekus Records.
