A softly-emotive singer, Olivia Devine (aka L Devine) makes hooky, often dance-oriented pop that retains the relatable vulnerability of more folk-oriented performers. Following her self-posted songs, Devine emerged to wider fame in 2017 with her debut EP Growing Pains.


Born in 1997 and raised in Whitley Bay near Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Devine became interested in music at a young age. By her teens she was posting songs online including a cover of Beyonce's "Mine," which caught the attention of producer Mickey Valen, who encouraged her work. Subsequently, she relocated to London where she and Valen produced her debut EP, 2017's Growing Pains. Included was the single "School Girls," which found an audience online and drew favorable comparisons to artists like Robyn, Dua Lipa, and Tove Lo. She returned in 2018 with a second EP, Peer Pressure, featuring the track "Nervous." A standalone single, "Naked Alone," arrived in May 2019. ~ Matt Collar
