Australian folk singer and environmentalist Ziggy Alberts spent years as a busker before issuing a series of albums on his independent label, Commonfolk Records.
∙ Six years after its release, his debut single “Simple Things”—from 2013’s Made of Water—went Gold, while another six songs from his catalog were certified Platinum.
∙ His breakout album, 2018’s Laps Around the Sun, reached the Top 10 of the ARIA Album chart and scored an APRA Music Awards nomination.
∙ The 2019 single “Intentions (22)” made the Triple J Hottest 100, the annual year-end list of Australian radio listeners’ favorite songs.
