One night by the light of the moon
She climbed out of her window.

And they ran away together on a southbound train
Said their vows by the light of day
Time was all they had on their side
And the train rolled on into the night.

She didn't have a wedding gown, she didn't have a ring
But he was all she'd ever need
Into the night they snuck away
And they got married the next day.

They stayed together until they were old & gray
