My Uncle Jed, he lives down on the farm
whatever he does, doesn't do nobody no harm
works all day sleeps all night
he never ever worries but he's soon to a fight

Now Jed build his house down over a stream

he planted a tree down under his bed

Amy Lou she's Uncle Jed's wife
she's so very pretty and she's always nice
Amy and Jed they make quite a pair
a couple of freaks from the old county fair
