Elegy for a Dying World
Is this the air we're breathing in
Fragments of me and atoms of fluorine
Is this the tear of a dying tree
Saturated in mercury and fragments of thee
Water is no longer one of your rights
Drink this mercury and cyanide
You can't be poisoned
You're already dying
Weep on all the entities
That you might have been
If you only pushed boundaries
Further than eyes can see
Tell your children one sorrowful last lie
Let them vanish in hope
And let them die
The best ones, the bright ones and the worthy ones
They're already gone in a place forgotten
We're all strangers in a world of other lords
Our end is the amend for the time we stole
And don't follow, I'm not sure where to go
I've got pain that's washing me ashore
Mistakes and regrets darken my day
But I'm glad, that with me, you're staying
