Flowers

I saw you standing next to her,
Didn’t stir,
Just observed.

Felt I’d been watching you for days,
Your lips.
On your face.

Said ‘What’s your name?’
You just smiled,
And walked away…

It was you,
That caught my eye,
We both know you’re not leaving tonight
Without me.

I didn’t know she’d bring me flowers,
Ahhh
She made me wait for them for hours,
Ahhh
She said I had good taste,
And not drop would go to waste,
She said I’d love to watch your face,
Every time I bring you flowers.

I watched you dancing half the night,
With that girl,
by your side,

I saw you try and catch my eye,
On the sly,
Maybe twice.

Was getting late,
Getting tired,
of that place.

And then you,
Don’t you know,
You whispered in my ear ‘it’s time to go’
With me..
