Highway Hypnosis
Every day is mostly the same
With little instances of difference
That's not always a complaint
It's nice to have a system
Sitting in my car for 45 minutes
Crying to 'in rainbows'
A leaf blows onto the windshield
And i come to
Drop everything i had to do
And give into
Highway hypnosis
My friends don't wanna come
They have more important business to do
On a Tuesday afternoon
Well i should too
Just trying to figure out why i'm still going
A blanket folded up on the ground
I thought it was roadkill
A great brown dog turned out an illusion
Well thank god
I don't think i could deal with that kind of sight
But for highway hypnosis, i keep going
Stand in the shower like 45 minutes
Makes my roommates impatient
It's just part of my system
But it needs a change
I'm wasting too much water and life away
