Hook, Line and Sinker
Well I’m hook, line and sinker
I couldn’t fall deeper
A total surrender it’s true
But I don’t feel weaker
being full of salt water
on a riverbed made for two
Down by the river
Watching the salmon
leaping’ their way upstream
No effort at all
They follow the call
Of a current that’s felt not seen
Under the willow
Watching my troubles
Caught on the line of my dreams
I cast them away
on the tides of the day
As the water it washes me clean
Cause I’m hook, line and sinker
I couldn’t fall deeper
A total surrender it’s true
But I don’t feel weaker
being full of salt water
on a riverbed made for two
Do-do-do…
There was a time
When the river ran dry
A sediment silt at its seam
now it’s overflowing
and full of a knowing
as it floods to a faraway sea
Shadow lies down and blocks out the light
memories fade
whatever you want, not always you need
but we all still fall…
Hook, line and sinker
I couldn’t fall deeper
A total surrender it’s true
But I don’t feel weaker
being full of salt water
on a riverbed made for two
on a river bed made for two
Do-do-do
