Meet Me (In St. Lucia)
West Indies on the wall,
watchin caterpillar crawl.
And I've got no one to call..
come and meet me.
birds sing alien songs,
I'm wishin I could sing along.
And I'm feelin like king kong,
unpatiently.
I'd like to spend my days with you,
I haven't got much else to do.
You could heal my heart this evening,
I'm running out of books to read
I've seen you in some magazine,
dressed up like a Creole queen.
pickin mangos from a tree,
make it look easy.
And you know I can't stand still,
cause you hooked me by the gills.
I'm in the treehouse on hill,
come and see me.
barefeet on the floor
I hear the break of lazy humming waves.
Night pursues the falling sun.
I try to quiet the noise around.
No calendar, so don't remind me
how I dread the falling sun
cats perched up on the wall
watchin all the lizzies crawl
warm air and the rain falls
it falls for hours
and you know I can't sit still
cause you hooked me by the gills
I'll just have to dream until St. Lucia.
