Nothin' Ventured Nothin' Gained
I went out for a walk one evening
Feeling low, I just didnt care
Saw an old man standing on a park bench
Waving his arms up in the air
I said: What in the world do you think youre doing?
He said: Im warming up, getting ready to fly
Old man, you must be crazy
Thats when he looked me right in the eye and said
Nothin ventured, nothin gained
Sometimes you have to go against the grain
To find the sun you gotta face the rain
Nothin ventured, nothin gained
Nothin ventured, nothin gained
I shook my head and kept on walking
I thought to myself, now Ive seen everything
This world is full of impossible dreamers
Aint no doubt this one is going insane
I turned around and he was still flapping
His arms up and down, leaning in the air
I yelled: Old man, wake up youre dreaming
You aint goin anywhere He just said
Nothin ventured, nothin gained
Sometimes you have to go against the grain
To find the sun you gotta face the rain
Nothin ventured, nothin gained
Nothin ventured, nothin gained
But much to my surprise
His feet came off the ground
And as he went flying by
He turned my heart around
I started singing
Nothin ventured, nothin gained
Sometimes you have to go against the grain
To find the sun you gotta face the rain
Nothin ventured, nothin gained
Nothin ventured, nothin gained
