Solar burnout, watching
The crepitant remains
Lie scattered and broken
Pariah of civilization observed
As jealous keepers of the green tongue perished
Behold his weathered visage
The vagrant
Transcending the ravages of time
And dual existence
Alight on my shoulder
Faithful companion
As the moon arises we depart
Far beyond the minarets
And steeples of the vanished
We fold into the space between the planets
