What Did We Know
When the breeze led me to you
I thought that would last forever
So I found a plot of land
And there I built our little piece of heaven
What did we know about the world?
About its anger and its terror?
Nightmares belonged with times long gone
We were children from another era.
So we planted seeds of love
And our harvests were abundant, they were fruitful
We would shelter anyone
And in our minds, in our souls there was no evil
So when you were sent away
My foundations of reality just crumbled
And the pillars that sustained
My beliefs, my naivety just vanished.
What did we know about the world?

There's the seeds that so eagerly we planted
But their color's not the same
All the love they contained is mold and ashes.
