I’ve searched for secrets in the stars,
In the tea leaves and the tarot cards
But lately I’ve come to understand
The answer lies in the palm of your hand
We’re not really ruled by unknown forces
Life’s a banquet, and we’re just between courses

And I believe the original sin
Is giving up and giving in
And frankly, Eve, that snake was right
If there is an apple left, I want a bite

There are people out there I haven’t met yet
After all I’ve been through
If I still don’t know what to expect

Life’s a candy store, my sweet
And we’ve got all the nickels that we need
And at my age, who wants to diet?
If it’s creamy and sweet, I gotta try it

Rules were made by fools like me for younger fools to break
Why some of my best memories are of my worst mistakes

The years may sneak up from behind so you might as well make friends with time
