In the Shelter (The Cajun Navy)
It was a storm that didn't have a name
Rained for 3 long days & nights
People stranded on roof tops
with no help in sight.
So we powered up our Evinrude's
and did what we do best
Said a prayer on our way out
and let the good Lord do the rest!
So hang on Louisiana
You can bet we got your back!
No bureaucratic BS
Gonna stop us in our tracks!
Cause when the water rises
will be back again,
We're the Cajun Navy....
Of South Louisiane
We might have lost our homes
But we ain't lost our grit!
We're like minute men..
been through a lot of a shit
But one thing you can bet on,
From the thousands of these boats!
will be their ,to save your ass
When you're at, the end of your rope!!!
Now listen here you lawmakers
and you too, Uncle sam,
We're just here to help our own
and lend a helping hand!
But if you're gonna draw the line
and try to block our way...
One thing you can count on!
there'll be hell to pay!!!
