Gettin’ Down The Road
Little bits of light shown through her hair, and on to me
Desire made me want to stay, that’s how it goes
But now I gotta bail and they say they gotta close
I never stay around, and get to see the town
I just shake my head as the wheels start to roll
I’m gonna be getting down the road, cause I know it’s time to go
I’m gonna get up, and get on down the line
I’m gonna be getting down the road, cause I know it’s time to go
I’m gonna get up, and find me a piece of mind
Hillbillies night club, just another roadside bar
A bunch of red clay dirt and the inside, of a car
A mountain silhouette in evening outside of Boone
Today I rode along, and I penned, this little tune
That’s a picture of a day, when you live the lonesome way
But I wouldn’t trade it for a pot of gold
