Latin rock band Plastiko became the winner of the first annual Hard Rock Stage contest, held in Guadalajara, Mexico, winning the opportunity to sign up to Warner Music. The group issued a self-titled album which mixed Latin jazz, electric funk, rock, and ska, and featured the hit single "Jazzkaman." ~ Drago Bonacich
