Romeo Santos is a best-selling bachata singer/songwriter. He rose to fame as the lead vocalist of world-renowned boy band Aventura, which he co-founded with his cousin and brothers. Fusing bachata with R&B and hip-hop, they broke through with the global chart-topping single "Obsesión" from 2002's We Broke the Rules. Santos embarked on a solo career in 2011. His debut single "You," topped Latin charts followed by another numer one, "I Promise. Largely self-written and produced, Formula, Vol. 1 (2011) marked his album debut, and it too placed at the top of several Latin charts. After the massive success of The Formula Vol. 2 (2014), he was nominated for seven 2015 Premio Lo Nuestro awards, including Artist of the Year.
