Coming out of Chicago and working the word "drip" in wherever he can, MC Famous Dex rocketed to fame in 2016. Born Dexter Gore, the MC began posting and uploading his hooky, Southern-influenced brand of hip-hop in 2015. He hit late that year with the track "Drippy Drippy," and then in early 2016 he dropped the Drippy mixtape. He also dropped the mixtape OhhMannGoddDamm and signed with Rich the Kid's Rich Forever Music, the label that issued his hit single "Drip from My Walk" during the same year. A mixtape, Dexter the Robot, also arrived later in 2016, followed in 2017 by the A$AP Rocky collaboration "Pick It Up," which hit the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at number 54. A handful of additional singles including the Top 30 pop hit "Japan" led to his proper debut album, Dex Meets Dexter, released in April 2018. The album cracked the Top Ten of the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. ~ David Jeffries
