Australia's Lillye are a powerful, hard rock and heavy metal-influenced band featuring dynamic lead vocalist Virginia Lillye. Formed in Sydney in 2012, Lillye also feature guitarist Matt Ellis, bassist Christian Lauria, and drummer Bennet Livingstone. Prior to joining the band, Virginia Lillye had built a reputation as an in-demand musical theater actress, appearing in European productions of Hair, Grease, Jesus Christ Superstar, and many more. Along the way, she also honed her rock skills, singing in various bands. After coming together, Virginia Lillye and her bandmates turned their sights on writing original material, and in 2014 they released their debut Lillye EP.
Over the next two years, Lillye toured regularly and made high-profile appearances at various festivals across Australia and Europe. They also supported former Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke on several dates, and garnered a handful of accolades, including taking home a Global Music Award and being twice nominated for an Australian Independent Music Award.
