One of Indonesia’s most celebrated vocalists, Ruth Sahanaya has defined and refined the meaning of ‘diva’ over her illustrious career. Her distinctive, soulful and larger-than-life vocals has soundtracked and inspired generations of pop listeners since the late 1980s, with classic hits ranging from tender, lush balladry (”Keliru”), to sunny, coquettish bops (“Astaga”) and club-ready thumpers (“Bawa Daku Pergi”). The Bandung-born songstress has also ventured into Christian pop with a handful of full-lengths, most notably 2006’s seasonally themed Joyful Christmas.
