SAMSONS’ 2006 debut, Naluri Lelaki, scored big with their Indonesian audience, yielding monster hits such as the title track and their award-winning signature song, “Kenangan Terindah”. Thanks to guitarist/chief songwriter Irfan Aulia and his infectious mix of punchy rollers and sentimental ballads, the Jakarta-based group wiftly became one of the biggest to emerge that decade. Meanwhile, 2013’s Perihal Besar at once marked the debut of new frontman Ariadinata and signalled a more mellow sonic direction in SAMSONS’ sound.
