California's five-member Dayseeker make expansive metalcore and post-hardcore rock. Formed in Orange County in 2012, the band features the talents of former Arms Like Yours members vocalist Rory Rodriguez and guitarist Alex Polk, along with guitarist Gino Sgambelluri, bassist Andrew Sharp, and drummer Mike Karle. In 2013, they released an untitled EP and signed to InVogue Records. The full-length album What It Means to Be Defeated followed that same year. In 2015, Dayseeker released their sophomore full-length album, Origin, which featured production from Nick Ingram (Huntington, For Today, Hotel Books). 2016 proved to be a somewhat tumultuous year for the band with the departure of both Polk and Sharp, as well as a switch from InVogue to Spinefarm Records. Former At the Skylines member Shawn Yates came aboard as the new guitarist and the band completed work on their third LP, Dreaming Is Sinking/Waking Is Rising, which saw release in July 2017. ~ Matt Collar
