A Better Life
I was working as a miner
Diggin' dirt and eating dust
A quarrel with my supervisor
Got me fired, I was crushed
But I looked into the sunlight
Left the darkness far behind
Travelling south, leaving my sorrow
I found love upon my way
A precious gift, my new tomorrow
We married soon, without delay
faith was cruel, took my honey
Giving birth to my first son
I got lost and started drinking
to consolidate my grief
But my baby got me thinking
I had to fight and drop my beef
Give my son a better future
Leave the darkness once again
Years have past since that november
But I found happiness again
Although I always will remember
The things I lost and years I spent
To recover from the mourning
Bringing light into my life
Well I had my share of losing
Hit rock bottom a few times
But I always kept refusing
To give up or to consign
Riding off into the sunset
Searching for a better life
Everyday is a beginning
I stay away from what has been
Cause the wheel it keeps on spinning
I look forward what can be
Riding off into the sunset
Searching for a better life
Bringing light into my life
Leave the darkness ...far behind
