By myself feeling sad of course
Off a two-lane highway I was forced
To get out of my car
Five police cars froze
By the side of the road in a row
Flashing lights all over snow
Looking for someone who'd flown
Out into the night
Twenty miles before
A family in a car
Drove in front of me for an hour
I got to know the kids from their smiles
