Bang
Everybody knows us, or believe they do
But who or what or where we are, they got no clue
Some claim they got it all pretty much figured out
Yet the truth is that they dont know what theyre talking about
We were working in our little lab, my friend and me
Messing around with gasses, molecules and gravity
We had no modus operandi, no design nor plan
Then suddenly the lights went out and we heard a bang
Now what went wrong we still dont really understand
But when the dust had settled on the day that time began
We stared beyond the frontiers of a great unknown
And what we saw appeared to have a will of its own
Then we got into some strange but nasty argument
About who should take the blame for this experiment
And though I dont want anyone to get the wrong I.D.
My friend wagged his tail and laughed, it sure as hell wasnt me
Oh why isnt life more simple
Synoptical and painless
With a clear set of rules
Much more agreeable and pleasant
No vile impersonators
And no blindfolded fools
So if someone wants to hear about that fatal day
Well keep our big mouth shut or simply look the other way
Dont come begging here for mercy, hope or common sense
Were not allowed to tell you how this fantasy ends
The only way to find out what has happened then
Is sit it out and wait until the final bang
