Beirut Windows

Beirut windows are slowly rising
Houses are piled up, always looking good
We live in them together, windows with different views
And life is still young, with its flowers and thorns

Beirut windows are slowly rising
Read in their coffee cups, tell me what you see
They've been through a lot, sweet days and sour days
Hungry for more legends, and life is still young

Beirut windows are slowly rising

Our stories are hanging, forgotten on clotheslines
Like colorful canvases, on grey rooftops

Beirut windows are slowly rising
Houses are piled up, always looking good
We live in them together, windows with different views
Life is still young, with its flowers and thorns

She stands in the early mornings
With eye shadow around her beautiful eyes
Perhaps someone might drop by
And the sea with its ebbs and tides
Never tires, never stops
And no matter how old she gets
He's the only neighbor who truly cares

Beirut windows are slowly rising

Our stories are hanging, forgotten on clotheslines
Like colorful canvases, on grey rooftops
