Change in the Weather
Change in the weather can come any time
It's out of your hands, an unwelcome surprise
Like a coward who hits from behind
Then your smile and the sidewalk collide
Nothing stays the same like before
Nothing's ever safe behind a locked door
One day you're flying
The next lying on the floor
Being lost in the woods
The best thing you will find
Your heart is a compass to guide you
Closing the book fully opens your mind
Then all your dreams, they can chase you
On the wall, the writing I read
Don't make promises you can't keep
I was taken for a ride down a dead-end street
I may go easy but I don't come cheap
Birds fly against the wind
Being blown all around, they still sing
A lesson's there to be taught
Brave the cold, face the hot
Cause the weather will change
Whether you like it or not
