Flash of God
I gave my last dollar to a homeless man
on the corner of Michigan and Monroe.
All he had was a sign that said he had nothing
but for us to understand and let it go.
So I poured my quarters into his paper cup
he said thank you and never looked up.
I kept walking and he kept talking
and to this very day I wish I had stopped
just to see what he was saying
because when I walked away he started praying.
