In a Statue of Frozen Glass
I cry only a few times a year
My mind collapses into my own arms
The weight becomes too much to bear
And I cry tears of release
My friends and family become distorted images
My lovers become ghosts living the lies my ego creates
Trapped inside a statue of frozen glass
You know the blues
I had it for twelve years
Then one day it left me
One day I was freed from the cage
I was prepared for burial inside the tomb of my mind
Fueled by a false perspective of reality
Then I saw my horizon it was breathtaking and a real misdiagnosis
A fresh perspective a rebirth of wonder I was freed from the cage
No longer trapped inside a statue of frozen glass
