Let's Make It Our Turn

Ladies and gentlemen, lend me your ears
I've got a story to tell about the plight of our peers
And the battles they fought over so many years
So the rest of us could be free

I've scrapped the idea that I'm not good at life
I've seen how the others can't sleep through the night
And my pillow and blanket may put up a fight
But when I win that's when my mind feels free

So give us this day, our daily bread
Fight for the things we deserve
We were born to be happy
So let's make it our turn

Take my advice and I'lll show you the way
Of always believing that life will be ok
And some call it naive and some call it crazy
But at least my soul feels free

A teacher once taught me, a preacher once preached
The lives that we want to lead aren't out of reach
And I hope and pray that the words of their speeches ring true
And I land up feeling free

So give us this day, our daily bread
Fight for the things we deserve
We were born to be happy
So let's make it our turn

We were all born as equals
And we'll all be the same till we die

Cast your eyes forward and stick to the plan
Those bad things that have happened might happen again
When the sun shines its brightest, make shade with your hands
And enjoy what it's like to feel free

So give us this day, our daily bread
Fight for the things we deserve
We were born to be happy
We were born to smile

Give us this day, our daily bread
Fight for the things we deserve
We were born to be happy
So let's make it our turn
