Life Jacket
Think of all the bad things you have done
Not just because I say so
You feel it coming on
You need to focus on the bad things that have happened
In order to move on
Think of all the wrong things you have said
Now imagine all the other things you could have said instead
You made a bad decision but it's over now
And what matters is what's next
If life was a suit I'd have no buttons on my jacket
And if life was a rowing boat I'd only have one oar
The universe inspires while my social life it tires me
And I only wish I had a little more to give
Sometimes you'll find it hard to be yourself
Think of all the places you have been
And how you'd rather visit others
Over some that you have seen
The good thing is the world is going nowhere
We'll see it all eventually
Now think of all the people you have met
Some you share your life with
And the others you forget
But their existence is important
They remind us of the good ones that are left
If life was a suit I'd have no buttons on my jacket
And if life was a rowing boat I'd only have one oar
The universe inspires while my social life it tires me
And I only wish I had a little more to give
Sometimes you'll find it hard to be yourself
Now lower all your weapons, I think it's time we called a truce
Between the man you have invented and the man you are in truth
We've made some bad decisions, to put it bluntly we have really fucked things up
And the only real consequence is love
Now think all of the smiles you get to smile
Think of something happy you haven't thought of in a while
I'll be the first one to admit that it's not easy
But it's always worth a try
If life was a suit I'd have no buttons on my jacket
And if life was a rowing boat I'd only have one oar
The universe inspires while my social life it tires me
And I only wish I had a little more to give
Sometimes you'll find it's hard to be yourself
Sometimes you'll find it's hard to be yourself
Sometimes you'll find it's hard to be yourself
Sometimes you'll find it's hard to be yourself
