Maybe Happy
Maybe Happy
Long day, dire in the dark,
broken down without a spare.
see what's been totaled and retired,
and waste your wishes on repair.
I'm running out of distractions
to keep my mind from the mess,
swept up in satisfaction
that was well-dressed emptiness,
and it's anybody's guess how it'll turn out.
When I cross over from the shadows to the sun,
you're not with me.
I know you can't tell, but I've been doing well,
maybe happy.
Spare me the small talk that escapes,
when you boil down that blame.
bless our worried little hearts,
when harm and help look the same.
I'm running out of distractions
to keep my mind from the mess,
swept up in satisfaction
that was well-dressed emptiness,
and it's anybody's how it'll turn out.
When I cross over from the shadows to the sun,
you're not with me.
I know you can't tell, but I've been doing... maybe...
When I cross over from the shadows to the sun,
you're not with me.
I know you can't tell, but I've been doing well,
maybe happy.
maybe happy.
maybe happy
