Much of Nothing That's What

Much of nothing is what I thought it was
But the light in my face replays the past
Holy water can maybe help digest
Perhaps

In a moment I'm not selected
In a moment I'm not to blame
In a moment I learn the price I've come to pay

The slower I get there
The longer that makes it real

Keep it steady heavy heart
The pocket can hold on to the toughest part
That's not so hard

They left me in the darkest starting line
Counted all the seeds I planted
What a shadow this mighty tree has grown

In a moment I'm not selected
In a moment I'm not to blame
In a moment I learn the price I've come to pay

The slower I get there
The longer that makes it real

Stumbled through grassy blinds
Into a little house with a picket fence
Where all my friends who stayed behind
Sit on the lawn
Waiting, waiving goodbye
