My Christmas Plea

When will we learn how to live here in peace?
And when will we learn from our own history?
Oh that Christmas would change our hearts
But we're stuck in place just like snow globes and stars
Prisoners of our greed

When will we see with the eyes of a child
And look out our windows at snowstorms and smile?
Someday Christmas will open our eyes
And we'll see life clearly for the very first time
This is my Christmas plea

And the angels sing hallelu
Hallelu
Hallelujah
Merry Christmas

So give up your coat to one on the street
And give back to those who have never been free
I hope this Christmas we open our hearts
And no more we'll be trapped in snow globes and stars
This is my Christmas plea
