My Native Land
MY NATIVE LAND
You o Mother of my love so grand You o Mother of my love so grand You o Mother, my native land
The friendly sky above inviting shade of banyan tree, the holy Ganges flowing by o how can I forget thee My soul's broad love by God's command
was first born here below in my own native land
On India's sunny soil aglow I love thy breeze, I love thy moon I love the hills and seas, in thee I wish my life to cease
You taught me first to love the sky, the stars and God above so my first homage o India at thy feet I lay I love the waving corn of India's fields so bright
much better than those grown by deathless gods of might From thee I now have learnt to see to love all lands alike as thee, o India, my native land, I bow to thee
