Nobody Knows

I like to walk along
the weeping willow trees
at night
By myself to get away
from it all
The sky withholding nothing...
no moon, no stars, no clouds
In pitch-black darkness
I go beneath the branches
that hang down to my shoulders
I let the leaves
caress my hair and face
Like a silky breeze, touching me
Lifting me to a place
I've never seen before

I light a match,
just to watch it burn...
And the flame
furns into a orange peel
I can smell the juice
that drips slowly,
ever so slowly
Down my fingers,
to my wrist, to my elbows
Am I here? Am I dead?
Am I alive?
Nobody answers, nobody knows
But then again, who does?
But then again, who does... ?

The ccurtains that hang down
on my window
Are nocturnal blue
It melts down to nothing
in the sunlight
While my cat stretches out
the rug next to my bed?
I look at myself in the mirror
My reflaction invites me in
The hards of time go back
as I slip into unconsciousness
Falling, ever so slowly
to a place
I've never seen before
I sqnint my eyes
for a better view
Only to find that
I am inside the scenery...
Am I here? Am I dead?
Am I alive?
Nobody answers, nobody knows
But then again, who does...?
But then again, who does...?
