REFLECTIONS part1

A magic moment so hard to come across
It is so strong - and yet: So easily fading away
Due to the music we all feel reassured
The flurry vanishes just as we start to play

We're all so different and yet we're so alike
Connected with those strings that no one else can see
And like one body we're driven by the beat
An overwhelming joy as we strike a melody

How can I speak when I can't find sufficient words ?
Love and affection sound too poor

You can't prevent it - it carries you away
Suddenly you realise: You're a part of the music yourself
It fills your senses - fills your entire life
You discover that the music is a part of you as well

How can I express what no words can convey
Love and affection sound too poor
We speak in handshakes in hugs and merry eyes
Within the music we're secure

We have put our heart into this band and if it ends
What is a rose without its stalk?

REFLECTIONS part2

So it is over the party is over
I feel a heavy emptiness inside - that's all
The spell was broken, no words were spoken
the silence showed us a vision of tumbling walls

So you have made up your mind now, want to leave it behind now
You have changed so much in one single stroke
There is no returning, your bridges are burning
My future is hidden from the eye by the black curling smoke

But there's no use in crying anymore
Nothing left to say
Things won't ever be as they were before in any way

Inside I'm crying, inside I'm dying
Like I do when something beautiful breaks apart
But one's growing colder - when you get older
the surface shows nothing, the shield around you grows hard

Those were the days my friend! We thought they would never end
We would fight the crisis - and win again!
But I don't believe in trying to deceive myself
So I guess now those days have come to an end
Emotions of yesterday that I cannot retain -
will just end as a line in a happy refrain

It's a pity it's just a pity
cause what we had seemed good to me
But there is no use in trying to accuse somebody
because has chosen - cause the choice must be free

Words seem so useless I feel so helpless
I can find no comfort anywhere
There's no point in running, still memories are coming
And those before calling for laughter are now calling for tears

But there's no use in crying anymore
Nothing left to say
Things won't ever be as they were before in any way
