Seasons Change
I wish that the stars would fall to earth
and light our way back home.
The pools beneath our feet tear with skipping stones.
So how much time should pass
for me to recognize mistakes?
The days I let pass by,
the story in your eyes I never read.
And I have to hear you say
that you're in a better place
but I won't stop mailing these postcards
to somewhere I don't know.
How many years should drift by my windowsill?
To heal the wounds inside,
the empty words that slide right down my throat.
And I have to hear you say
that you're in a better place
but I won't stop mailing these postcards to somewhere I don't know.
Seasons change and we grow apart.
But I don't have the heart to live in a world where we never met.
Colors fade,
drip down the drain,
we were white as sheets.
Colors fade,
drip down the drain.
If you loved yourself as much as I held you in my heart
then just maybe I could hear you over the phone, you'd know just what to do.
I'm so lost.
I'm so lost without your hand
cascading over mine
but I won't stop mailing these postcards to somewhere I don't know.
And I have to hear you say that you're in a better place but I won't stop mailing these postcards to somewhere I don't know.
