The Ballad of Leif the Lucky

The clock blinks, cars on the street
Cast shadows on my wall
As i yawn my mind regains its sense of 'here'
This multiverse has been picking on me
Like splinters from a floor
Where time and touch have worn away veneer

Specters, specters dance before me
In technicolored forms
Hallucinations of what I could have been
Fantastical nightmared visions split me into two parallels
A twilight zone where nothing is pretend

The most frightening realization
Is a questioning of self
You wonder if who you've been is even real
You grab another bottle from that high liquor
Because rest is easier when you can't feel
