The Cat Walk
I'm sleepin' soundly
No one around me
I've got the whole run of this place
But then suddenly
He jumps up on me
This cat is walking on my face
You never woke up with such a start
And a pounding heart
As when a paw goes slipping down your snoring nose
Into your mouth
Because a cat will walk wherever he wants
Typing a letter
Not any better
This cat goes wherever he please
His tail up proudly
He's purring loudly
This cat is prowling on the keys
And he doesn't care if he's invited
Too excited
A king of the castle gets what he wants
And gets it meow
Where have those paws been
I just can't even begin
When the litter box is on my mind
He drags all of those toes
And leaves fur wherever he goes
Like hide and seek where there's nowhere to hide
Because a cat will walk wherever he wants
Whenever he wants
A cat will walk wherever he wants
(inst)
A cat doesn't mind walking on waffles
Then they taste awful
I guess that syrup is mighty fine
When he licks it off
Well sure he's pushy
His tail is bushy
He's walked through gallons of paint
Ruined a meatloaf and shredded my coat to waste, la da da
And though the claws hurt
Paws covered in dirt
I can't imagine a change
We're growing closer
With every step that he takes on my pancakes
Because a cat will walk wherever he wants
Whenever he wants
A cat will walk wherever he wants
This feline makes a beeline for me
