The Unicorns Are Screaming!

Print songSend correction to the songSend new songfacebooktwitterwhatsapp

Well the doctor said better slow down world

cos you don't know what you're taking

And the man with the crown had it melted

down to pay for all the faking

And the prince on the hill was standing still

they thought he was a statue

But the horsemen came in the dead of night

and they still coming at you

Children play with a skipping rope

but the rope is growing tighter

Teachers teach and the rich get rich

but the waters rising faster

When the flood comes down

and the blood runs out

Who will slay the demon

To the shiny knight on a golden horse

The unicorns are screaming

On a dusty plain in the arid heat

the trees and seeds are dying

In the market square no justice there

empathy is crying

Fire fries the once blue skies

and all our dreams of freedom

Diamond eyes and social lies

follow those who lead them

So we stand in a broken land

with smoke and ash around us

Aztecs, priests and poets despair

as their power leaves them helpless

And the tiny gods with feet of clay

all mouth and nothing to them

Raise their arms are carried away

in the flood of empty reason
