When We're Dreamng
I don't know where we go when we dream
Or when we see the puzzle what the pieces really mean
But I know there's something waiting to explore
When we travel to the other shore
What happens, we really cannot say
Everything's familiar in a brand new way
The light dims and the day slowly rewinds
On the movie screen in our minds
When we're dreaming
We're hardly sleeping
Words can't describe
This stunning joyride
In our minds
A dream is like a journey
Curled up in our beds
The wings in our heads
Take flight
A round trip ticket to somewhere long ago
We've not been there before and yet we somehow know
What's around each corner we've designed
And all the little things that we'll find
A hidden gem we find within a drawer
Or discover upstairs rooms we've never seen before
We can fly one foot above the ground at will
Or take the whole thing in standing still
When we're dreaming
We're hardly sleeping
A silent playground
So loud yet no sound
In our minds
Moonlight is like a spotlight
The curtain opens
And we are roped in
All night
Like a car that doesn't have a steering wheel
We don't know where it's going but know how it feels
These dreams will take us by our hands
And we'll watch horizons expand
When we're dreaming
We're hardly sleeping
Magic can happen
When we imagine
With our minds
What I take away from all these dreams
Forgetting all the mysteries and what they really mean
Is that the world's a gallery of great big thoughts
And we can keep them if we connect the dots
And I'll tell you all about them when the sun comes up again
