William and June
When William was born
And his father denied
In a hot summer storm
June laid down and cried
How could he say
The child is not his own?
June, was lead astray
She can't face this alone
When she opened her eyes
Held her boy's hand
She felt she must try
To raise a good man
How could they make it
With no one there to call
June, you've go to make it
He's looking up to you for the long haul
William and June are gonna make it
Something inside her shows the way
They'll make it
They have to or we're all doomed to fail
They'll make it
We'll make it there too
And June watched her son grow
To a strong happy man
It was her gift to bestow
To live as I am
How could he say
The child is not his own?
William is a good man
And they did it all on their own
William and June are gonna make it
Something inside her shows the way
They'll make it
They have to or we're all doomed to fail
They'll make it
We'll make it there too
When William was born
And his father denied
In a hot summer storm
June laid down and cried
