Conclusion
While largely ignored by mainstream audiences upon its 1983 release, "Blasphemy" found an unexpected second life on TikTok, a popular digital media platform. In 2022, the song became an official TikTok sound, associated with the Coffin Challenge, wherein generation Z users would upload clips of themselves hitting the so-called "corpse pose" beside the open caskets of their loved ones.
And now, as we come to our final song, let us conclude on a note of radical positivity. When in the winter of 1981, singer Tony Diamond declared, "Congratulations, you did something good," it wasn't merely a lyric, it was an antidote. An antidote to the wretched virus that would go on to define the 1980s. I'm talking of course, about sadness.
So, on behalf of myself, Daniel Radcliffe, the esteemed Dr. Gordon, and all of my colleagues at CMP, I'd like to thank you for joining us on this musical voyage and wish you safe travels on your future sonic adventures. Here is "Congratulations".
