Month of March in Salvador
Month of March in Salvador
Summer's not yet met defeat
Every flower sweetly glows
Enchanted garden dreams.
Once you leave Abaeté
Headed for Flamengo beach
Ask your feet, they’ll take you there
Across the dunes and the weeds.
Contemplate such beauteous sights
All describing seems useless
Orchid collars curled in ties
Sweetest water close to bliss.
Ancient creatures stand aloof
Butterflies that linger on
Fancy lizards green and blue
And foxes bright as gold.
Myriad birds singing within you
Rising up to fullest sound
Tell you about long gone times
back when the sun began to shine.
See those yellow dancing flowers
Swing about announcing rain
Longing for colorful showers
Watercolored pearls.
Now evening falls, the cricket sings
The scented breeze brings ‘alecrim’
Life is drawing distant lines
Still all their ends meet deep inside.
Month of March in Salvador
Summer's not yet met defeat
Every flower sweetly glows
Enchanted garden dreams.
