Initially forming as the cover band Cikini Stones Complex in 1983, Slank have become Indonesia’s most important rock group. Buoyed by powerful, charming vocals, visceral guitars and fun-loving rhythms rooted in ‘80s rock, the five-piece from Jakarta have amassed a devoted following of millions thanks to their revered songbook devoted to peace, love and good times. Although not without internal troubles, their prolific run of releasing of rock classics is unbroken, taking in the storming “Terlalu Manis” and the tongue-in-cheek “I Miss U But I Hate U”.
